How much do I get paid?

Customers are charged $20 per hour. We use $4 to cover costs when things go wrong, vetting, payment processing, and scheduling.

Sidepost Umbrella Neighbors can get paid up to $16/hour. If you choose to make less than $16, we’ll use the difference to fund discounted work for low-income seniors.

Here is what current Sidepost Umbrella Neighbors say about working with Sidepost Umbrella:

“I’ve been very happy to meet with everybody. I really like doing this. I’ve gotten to meet a lot of people – essentially my neighbors, people in my community. I like the idea of helping people that otherwise might not be able to do things on their own.”

— Brad C., Umbrella Neighbor

“As you get older, friends who help you – they’re no longer there. Your husband – he’s no longer there. And simple things become big things. On the other end, you have people who have free time and are fairly handy- they enjoy this kind of work. It’s a win-win.”
