Community Policy

Umbrella is a community of people who work together to make it easier and safer for older adults to stay in their homes. We’re proud our Members and Neighbors make up a wide-ranging, diverse community. The only thing every Member has in common is that they are over 65 or have a physical disability. Every Umbrella Member’s participation helps us offer our affordable services to any seniors who wish to live independently in their homes.

We have a simple philosophy: all people in our community must be treated with respect, in every interaction.

That means not treating others differently because of their race, ethnicity, national origin, religious affiliation, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, disability, or serious diseases. We reserve the right to remove anyone from the Umbrella platform for violating this policy.

Every day, Umbrella is a place where the best in people comes shining through. The jobs may seem ordinary, like fixing a leaky faucet or mowing a lawn. But we think the experience of making a request and having a trusted, caring neighbor answer the call is pretty amazing.

Thank you for helping make Umbrella a community where all are welcome.
