We are so excited to have you as part of the Umbrella family! You are joining a community of people 65+ looking to for an easy, trusted way to maintain their homes. You now have a single place to turn to take care of all of the little things in and around your house. From yardwork to fixing light fixtures to home organizing, Umbrella is here for you. If you’re not sure if we can do it, just ask! We can probably help.

Tasks done by Umbrella Neighbors, vetted members of the community, are a flat, affordable rate. For jobs that require a professional, we will recommend and book vetted providers on your behalf. You will always know the rate before you choose to book a job.

How Umbrella Works
1. Request a Job
Tell us what you’d like to get done by submitting a job request through our smartphone app, emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or texting (516) 882-4498. Provide a few dates and times that work for you.
2. The Umbrella Neighbor Schedules the Job and Confirms it With You
Umbrella will find the right Umbrella Neighbor for the job who will then contact you directly to confirm the date and time for the job.
3. Sign the Job Ticket Once the Job is Done
Umbrella Neighbors will have a job ticket on their phones for you to sign. We will automatically charge your credit card and email you a receipt. You should never pay the Umbrella Neighbor directly.
Answers to Frequently Asked Questions:
Billing: The clock starts when the Umbrella Neighbor rings your doorbell. There is a 1-hour minimum for jobs done by Umbrella Neighbors, except for house cleaning, where there is a 2-hour minimum.
Cancellation policy: If you need to cancel or reschedule, please provide at least 24 hours notice. Jobs cancelled with fewer than 24 hours notice will incur a one hour charge out of respect for the Umbrella Neighbor’s time.
Payment: Do not pay the Umbrella Neighbor directly. Umbrella will charge your credit card for the service and then pay the Umbrella Neighbor, so you never have to worry about having cash on hand.
Booking jobs: Always let Umbrella know about a new task. We can only provide the Happiness Guarantee, if we know about tasks in advance. Email, text, or call us if you want an Umbrella Neighbor to do a job other than what you originally booked. We can make sure you’re both covered!
